Cultivating Daily unto the Nations: with the entire Globe so accessible nowadays via the web as well as rapid transit, what are your plans to love the nations in 2012?

December 15, 2011

Do you have plans to love the nations in 2012? Would you be willing to pray a simple prayer as the New Year rolls around? Here it is:

Lord, to whom here locally as well as there globally might you be sending me (and possibly my family) to love and serve and give Your Gospel to in 2012?

Now, in the words of Jeff Vanderstelt, are you willing to then reorient your entire life based upon the answer God gives? It may not mean a long-term move or change of geography, but it certainly at least means a short-term movement. Where will you go? To whom? With whom? And what will the implications be not only on how you go and serve but on how you are changed? What will you learn about the nations that also applies to how you give yourself away in the daily rhythms of your life here?

As you are pondering these things, check out this video from Google remembering 2011. May it spur in us an appreciation for how Global we have all become, how rapidly the world is changing, and how earnestly His church must do more than try to offer an alternative religion to the nations.

May we simply go and love them, cultivating the Good News of a near and loving God through the good graces of a compassionate and serving presence.
